REGULATION YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION FESPACO-2025

YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION is an initiative by the Management of FESPACO meant for fiction feature film projects in search of financial partners.

It aims to encourage and support African and Diaspora film co-productions, promote their distribution internationally and foster the development of cinematic talents in Africa.

Article 1: This Regulation aims to spell out the organizational, operational and participation conditions for film and audio-visual professionals in YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION.

Article 2:  YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION is taking place from 23 to 28 February 2025.

Article 3: Admission to YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION implies full adherence to this Regulation.

Article 4: Film admission criteria:

  • The call is open to fiction feature film projects in the process of production;
  • The project must be by an author/director and/or producer from an African country or Diaspora;
  • Shooting must not have started.

Article 5: Application package

Applicants to YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION Workshop must provide the following:

  • a logline;
  • a synopsis;
  • a treatment (10 to 15 pages);
  • a script of the project;
  • a photo of the director, (JPEG 300 dpi format);
  • photos and a visual of the film (portrait and landscape, JPEG 300 dpi format);
  • a note of intent of the director);
  • a bio-filmography of the director;
  • a bio-filmography of the producer;
  • an author’s contract with the production company;
  • a presentation of the production company;
  • a note of intent of the producer;
  • a letter of motivation specifying producer’s needs and expectations;
  • total budget of the film.

Deadline for submission of applications is 31 October 2024 at 23h59mn the latest via the platform by clicking here.

NB: Only complete applications will be considered by the selection committee.

Article 6: A selection committee chaired by the General Delegate of FESPACO shall be responsible for the selection of projects. The Committee’s decision shall be final and irrevocable.

The selection committee shall be sovereign and shall reserves the right not to justify its choice.

Results of the selection will be published onto FESPACO web site.

  1. Article 7: Selection into YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION implies that FESPACO will provides for:
  2. the transport expenses of the director or producer from their place of residence to Ouagadougou;
  3. stay expenses (accommodation and meals) in Ouagadougou;
  4. Director’s or producer’s accreditation to FESPACO;
  5. Director’s or producer’s participation in the activities under YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION.

Article 8: Participation in YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION Workshop implies full adherence to this Regulation.

Article 9: Accepted projects must:

  • have the mention “This film has been supported by FESPACO/YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION in their credits, together with the official logo of YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION;
  •  have the official logo FESPACO on any communication materials;
  • leave a copy of the film with FESPACO.

Article 10: The General Delegate of FESPACO shall be competent for any dispute over the interpretation and application of the provisions of this Regulation.

Amicable settlement with be favoured in the event of conflicts.   

Only the French version shall be binding.

Article 11: The General Delegate of FESPACO shall be competent for any cases not provided for by this Regulation.
