Synopsis
For a decade, there has been an illegal dumping of toxic waste on the coastline of Somalia. The Tsunami earthquake in 2004 damaged the toxic containers and spilled waste, which caused the spread of diseases. Many people left their villages; however, some stayed and live with the consequences.

Since 2009 Mo HARAWE has been living in Austria where his journey as a filmmaker began. He attended numerous film workshops and directed five short films, which have been shown at several international film festivals and won a number of awards. Besides that, Harawe works as a screenwriter, having written several scripts for feature films. His feature film script To Mogadishu, which he developed at the DIVERSE GESCHICHTEN SCRIPT LAB has won the DOR FILM award in 2016. He is currently working on his new feature film The village next to Paradise.
