CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – FESPACO 2027- YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION WORKSHOPS

As part of the 30th Edition of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) taking place from 27 February to 06 March 2027, professionals of the film and audio-visual industry are informed that applications for the third edition of the YENNENGA CO-PRODUCTION WORKSHOPS are on from 30 March to 25 September 2026.

Yennenga Coproduction is a platform dedicated to feature fiction and documentary film projects seeking financial partners.

It aims to encourage and support film co-productions from Africa and Diaspora, to promote their international distribution and to foster the development of African cinematic talents.  

This edition’s Yennenga Co-production welcomes all filmmakers from Africa and Diaspora.

Project eligibility criteria:

  • Not to have presented at previous editions of Yennenga Co-production;
  • Only feature fiction and documentary film projects in production phase are accepted;
  • Projects shall be led by authors/directors and/or producers from an African country or Diaspora;
  • Shooting of film project must not have started;

Application package:

Applicants for the Yennenga Co-production workshop shall provide:

  • A logline;
  • A short synopsis (maximum 400 characters);
  • A longer synopsis (1 page maximum);
  • A treatment (10 to 15 pages);
  • A script of the project;
  • A photo (JPEG 300 dpi) of director;
  • Pictures and a visual of the film (in portrait and landscape, JPEG 300 dpi);
  • A statement of intent of director;
  • A bio-filmography of director;
  • A bio-filmography of producer;
  • A letter of agreement between author and production company;
  • A presentation of the production company;
  • A statement of intent of producer;
  • A cover letter specifying producer’s needs and expectations;
  • A provisional budget of the film;
  • A financing plan of the film.
