Synopsis

Mamadou Souaré (known as Modou) is a Senegalese tailor who works in Marrakech. His daily routine is to manage a sewing salon with Senegalese employees. Day after day, his employees carry out with meticulousness a real work of ant by satisfying several orders. His sewing salon receives throughout the day a very special clientele: people of Moroccan, Senegalese, Ivorian, Italian nationality, etc. Through the passing of time, we see the particular links he creates with his customers and employees. Relationships that are sometimes very joyful and sometimes conflicting that are built up over time.

Fassar Maurice SARR is a laureate of the “Ecole Supérieure de Cinéma du Maroc” (ESAV Marrakech), specializing in directing. He started writing poems, short stories and novels when he was very young. In 2013, he published two collections of poems: Recueil de la fin du monde (Nena Editions), Premiers Vers (Edilivre).

Annaelle

Synopsis

Annaelle Moussavou, 24 years old, shy, passionate about digital technology, works in a computer company where she has difficulty asserting herself. She is harassed by Obiang, a macho man who is the head of her department. Alioune FALL was born in Saint-Louis, Senegal. He is walo-walo and was born on February 1, 1998. Passionate about art in all its dimensions and colors, he integrated the Institut Supérieur d’Enseignements Professionnels de Thiès in the Cinema field for two years before continuing at the “École Supérieure des Arts Visuels de Marrakech”. He is currently doing the Image Cinema option. Alioune FALL has had the opportunity to participate in many fiction and documentary film projects in Senegal. He is the director of the group film “Why not?”, “Terre riche Terre mère” and “Con-Trat” shot in the Senegal River Valley. In Morocco, apart from school films, he has worked on a feature film “Hotel de la paix” at “Jacaranda”.

L’innocence

Synopsis

Agathe is a student in criminology. She has been abused by her brother since her childhood. And from this incestuous relationship, Ines was born with a handicap due to her consanguinity. The three of them live together in a large house they inherited after the accidental death of their parents 15 years ago. Agathe’s daily struggle is to protect her daughter from her brother’s sexual urges.

Thomas Hénoc OUEDRAOGO is an emerging writer-director. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in film directing from the Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son (ISIS/SE) in 2013. He is best known for playing leading roles in many films and series of renowned directors such as Dani KOUYATE, Adama ROAMBA, Guy Désiré YAMEOGO etc. After his studies, Thomas OUEDRAOGO is quickly distinguished by his talent as first assistant director and is regularly solicited by several production structures of the place. Since 2019, he is the author of three (3) films.

Synopsis

A specialist in tropical plants, Rayann, 32, is a brilliant scientist who has had an exemplary career. But he loses his family in a terrorist attack. Since then, Rayann has lived apart from the world until the day he is taken hostage in his house by terrorists pursued by the police. By instinct of survival, he plans to neutralize them thanks to his knowledge of plants.

Malla, aussi loin que dure la nuit

Synopsis

When his father dies due to a lack of financial means for an early treatment of his illness, Malla blames the whole world. He blames his older brother Fado, his mother, his late father and even God. He only dreams of one thing, to get out of this misery and avoid his younger sister Kandi, to die from this hereditary disease that took their father. In his quest for a solution, Malla drags his family, in spite of themselves, into a dark adventure.

OUEDRAOGO Dramane was born in Abobo-Gare, Republic of Ivory Coast, on December 28, 1985. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and his love for art led him to the cinema for the first time in 2007 as an actor in a short film entitled “Amour sans frontière” (Love without borders) by Laurentine BAYALA, where he plays the main character. He then trained in theater and contemporary dance at the “Atelier Théâtre Burkinabè” (ATB). He then played several roles in forum plays and in about twenty films of all genres.

Synopsis

Faced with increasingly frequent and deadly attacks by armed groups since January 2016, Burkina Faso is also experiencing intercommunal clashes. Attacks by jihadist groups have caused nearly two million people to flee their homes, closed more than 4,000 schools and killed thousands of Burkinabè.
Abdou Djamal, about 50 years old, is the leader of an armed group that poses as a gold digger and a devout Muslim. Djamal is a strategist and a self-confident manipulator. He plans and directs, from his home in the city, all the operations and armed attacks perpetrated by Walid Jafar, his field man, against the civilian population.
Zakaria is a teenager, 15 years old. Internally displaced, Zakaria lives with his mother in the same neighborhood as Djamal, he is an orphan, his father was killed by the commando of Djamal. His father was killed by Djamal’s commando. Now that he and his mother are internally displaced, Zakaria’s new activity is collecting garbage with a cart. His destiny will change the day Djamal decides to take him in after a work accident.

L’affaire Sam Mory

Synopsis

The death of Judge Mory Samuel upsets the entire country. Accident or murder? An investigation was opened. Unconvinced by the conclusions of the autopsy, the members of the magistrates’ union call for a strike to protest against the insecurity in which they work. The widow Adji Mory decides to find out for sure and starts to investigate. The thesis of murder seems to be corroborated. Was it a crime or a political assassination? This is a difficult question, especially since Sam Mory has judged many sensitive cases and sent many indelicate people behind bars. What can this woman do on her own in the face of the formidable machinery that weaves in the shadows? Will Adji Mory come out of this trap unscathed?

Synopsis

A young woman, mounted on a horse and armed with a quiver, gallops at a fast pace. The horse speeds up at every command of its master. Mixing with the sound of hooves, a distant voice calling for someone can be heard, Yennenga… Without paying attention to this call, the rider continues her ride and disappears in the distance. Ignoring the concerns of the rider Yennenga, the city of Ouagadougou is dressed in its finest finery to receive its guests, including directors who have their films in competition at the 27th edition of Fespaco. Like a horse race, four (4) directors, Moumouni from Burkina Faso, Fama from Senegal, Aicha from Niger and Mutiganda from Rwanda, set out for a long ride.

Eléonore YAMEOGO is a Burkinabe director. She studied cinema at the “Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son” Image and Sound in Ouagadougou, then during workshops in France and Belgium. After having directed short and medium-length films: “Ouaga Jazzy”, “Ouaga HH”, “La main tendue”, 2011 marks the
the release of his first feature-length documentary “Paris mon Paradis” which premiered at FESPACO
at the FESPACO and won the prize of the Conseil Supérieur de I’Information. A series of awards followed in the same year. In 2019, she released “Le cimetière des éléphants” selected for the feature documentary competition at FESPACO. In 2021, Eléonore co-directs with Rosine Mbakam (Cameroon), An Van Dienderen (Belgium) “PRISM” a feature documentary. In 2022, Eléonore Yaméogo directed a documentary series of 26 episodes*12 min entitled ” DE L’AUTRE COTE DES RIVES “.
