SYNOPSIS:
In northern Burkina Faso, water is a very scarce commodity. The effects of human actions on the climate have led to migrations. The Oursi pond is the only water point in the vicinity. Children and animals travel kilometers to fetch water. Yet, human achievements in technology are as fascinating as they are intriguing. What is the meaning of science?
BIOFILMOGRAPHY:
Simplice Herman GNANOU is a Burkinabé director. He studied sociology, arts, and cultural administration at the University of Ouagadougou. In 2010, he obtained a Master’s degree in creative documentary filmmaking from Gaston Berger University in Saint Louis, Senegal. He is the author of several works, including Bakoroman (2012) and Koro du bakoro (2017), which won the Tanit d’or in Carthage.
