Hachimiya Ahamada, Comoros, 2024

SYNOPSIS:
In December 1976, a three-day revolt erupts in the small town of Majunga, Madagascar. Ali, a widower and second-in-command in a bookbinding workshop, is raising his two teenage daughters alone. One morning, before going to work, he witnesses what seems to be a simple neighborhood quarrel, which becomes the spark that ignites the neighborhood. Amidst the chaos, Ali searches for his daughters. 

BIOFILMOGRAPHY:
Born into the Comorian diaspora, Hachimiya Ahamada was born in Dunkirk and lives in Brussels. She directed her first short film, “La Résidence Ylang-Ylang,” presented at the International Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2008, followed by “L’Ivresse d’une Oasis.” Currently, she is working on writing her first feature-length fiction film, “Maïssane ou le Cantique des Astres.”
