SYNOPSIS
During a thrilling journey across the vibrant landscapes of Africa, The Third Gélé follows an extraordinary league of Pan-African women, the AJUMOSE, whose mission is to find their third crown. Led by IYA, a 400-year-old Yoruba matriarch, the AJUMOSE warriors face off against a ruthless band of bots, the IKU, to reclaim their ancestral African powers.
Their quest leads them to STELLAR, a woman trapped in grief and inner turmoil, whose fate is mysteriously intertwined with theirs. Together, they confront her pain, unlock a portal, and safeguard their heritage, forging an epic alliance that sets the stage for an imminent Awakening.
BIOGRAPHY
John Oluwole ADEKOJE is a Nigerian filmmaker whose short film YE! was selected at numerous international film festivals, including FESPACO, the Festival Cinémas d’Afrique Lausanne, Afrikamera in Berlin, Film Initiative Köln, and the Brussels International Film Festival. In 2024, The Third Gélé, the first feature film of ADEKOJE’s Jagun Trilogy, was selected for the prestigious Atelier Grand Bassam in Côte d’Ivoire.
