SYNOPSIS
On September 5, 1932, the colony of Haute-Volta was abolished. His Majesty the Moogh Naaba Kom II strongly opposed this decision and, in 1938, initiated efforts for its restoration. After his death in 1942, his successor, Moogh Naaba Saagha II, took up the cause. By 1945, the people of Haute-Volta rallied around the traditional chieftaincy in a struggle to reestablish the colony.
