SYNOPSIS
In the 1950s, faced with the coal crisis, Charbonnages de France turned to Felix Mora, a former officer of Indigenous Affairs in Morocco, to recruit Moroccan laborers. Mora was tasked with finding an illiterate, submissive, and low-cost workforce. This film uncovers the forgotten history of these Moroccan miners.

BIOFILMOGRAPHY
Khalid ZAIRI is a Moroccan producer and director, a member of the International Association of Independent Audiovisual Producers of the Mediterranean, and the initiator of Casablanca Film Lab, in collaboration with FESPACO. In 2017, he directed Sur les routes du Sahara, which won the Jury Prize and Best Music Award at the 2nd Al Jazeera Documentary Film Festival.
