SYNOPSIS
Everything was meticulously planned for the wedding of Iza 971, a 22-year-old Guadeloupean influencer. But just as she is about to say “yes,” a heated altercation erupts on the church steps between her and Steve, her fiancé, a wealthy car dealership owner. Insults fly, resentments explode. Humiliated and furious at being belittled, Isabelle runs away. But how can she disappear when she is an influencer followed by thousands?
BIOFILMOGRAPHY
Mariette Monpierre was born in Guadeloupe and raised in Paris. She began her career in advertising at BBDO NY before transitioning to cinema. In 2002, her short film Rendez-Vous was nominated for the Djibril Diop Mambety Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Her first feature film, Le Bonheur d’Elza (2011), won several international awards, including the Paul Robeson Prize at FESPACO 2013.
