CENT DOUZEJoël M’Maka, Togo, 2024
SYNOPSIS
1934, the arrival of the first train. I stood majestically at the heart of Togo, in a place that would later become Blitta—a cosmopolitan city that was built around me. I brought prosperity, a golden era that sparked envy… Then, nothing. Decline. Today, I am nothing more than a fading memory in the minds of the elders who still remember me.
