SYNOPSIS

In 1968, Martin Luther King was assassinated, and the Biafra War led to a devastating famine. Gabriel fled Nigeria and now lives in San Francisco, immersed in the African-American community. In the turbulent United States of the Sixties, his life in exile is marked by encounters, escapades, and wanderings, yet he remains haunted by memories of his childhood. Soon, his visa is set to expire.

BIOFILMOGRAPHY:

David Schickele, a filmmaker from the Bay Area of San Francisco, is best known for Bushman (1971). His documentary Give Me a Riddle (1966), shot in Nigeria, was his first major film. Over his career, he wrote, directed, and edited more than 30 films, ranging from documentaries to scripted and sound-designed productions. His last film, Tuscarora (1992), was theatrically released in the USA.
