SYNOPSIS
In a small village, illegal gold miners cause a mine collapse, resulting in the death of a farmer in his field. Outraged, the villagers expel the miners and block access to the mine. However, the terrorist group backing the miners retaliates swiftly, issuing an ultimatum: reopen the mine or abandon the village. Desperate, the entire community turns to the wisdom of their village elder, a centenarian, to guide their next move.
BIOGRAPHY
Floriane ZOUNDI is a cinematographer, screenwriter, and director from Dédougou, Burkina Faso. She trained at the ISIS Film School (Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son) in 2009 and later at Institut Imagine in 2013. Her first short film, Le Botaniste (2023), won multiple awards worldwide. Her second film, Juste instruite, is set to be released in 2025.
