BIOFILMOGRAPHY
Paulin Soumanou Vieyra (1925-1987) was a Senegalese filmmaker of Beninese origin, as well as a writer and historian of African cinema. Recognized as the first sub-Saharan African filmmaker, he directed around thirty documentaries, including:
• L’Afrique à Moscou (1957),
• Senegal and the World Festival of Black Arts (1966),
• Iba N’diaye, Painter (1982),
• LAMB (1963).
