After several unsuccessful attempts at auditions for a film role, Thompson finally took his first steps into the film industry in 2017 as a production assistant, immersing himself in the intricacies of the filmmaking process. Since then, he has earned a certificate in directing from the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) in Ghana and has directed several short films, earning the award for Best Student Director.
